Research Collaboration Across Borders

This week, researchers from SINTEF Industry, NTNU, Eramet, Reykjavík University, and online participants gathered in Reykjavík for the annual ZeSiM Project meeting.

The meeting focused on progress in two important research projects exploring the electrowinning of manganese and silicon as part of efforts to decarbonize the production of these metals.

During the visit, participants also toured Tæknisetur’s laboratories and visited a geothermal power plant, gaining valuable insight into Iceland’s research infrastructure and renewable energy expertise.

The collaboration continues to make strong progress, and the partners look forward to the final two years of the project.
