Netaprent at the European Young Entrepreneurs Competition

Project Manager

We are pleased to share that the startup Netaprent won the company workshop at the Vörumessan 2024 and therefore went on to compete in the European Young Entrepreneurs Competition this summer.
The company was founded by Andri, Erik, Markús, and Róbert, with the goal of recycling surplus fishing nets generated during production into useful products for the fisheries industry. In collaboration with Tæknisetur, they successfully converted fishing nets into 3D printing material and are currently in the design phase of developing a product based on the recycled material.

The team participated in the European Young Entrepreneurs Competition – GEN-E, held from July 2–4 in Catania, Sicily. There, they presented their company to a large audience and hosted an exhibition booth where they showcased their 3D printing material. Their idea attracted significant attention at the competition, and the team described the trip as both enjoyable and educational, as well as a valuable experience.
Andri, Erik, Markús, and Róbert would like to express their sincere thanks to Tæknisetur for the support and facilities provided.
